# How to check a merchant offer against the market

Paste a merchant quote or price list and see which prices beat the market.

## You get

- The price per 750 ml bottle, worked out from 6-packs and cases.
- The discount against retail (lowest price on sale now) and against auction (median hammer price). Positive means cheaper than the market.
- For a list: the best lines, the overpriced lines, and lines with too little data to judge.

## Tips

- Say whether a price is per bottle, per 6 or per case.
- For futures, ask: "Compare this to the last three vintages."
