Andrew Will

Andrew Will Winery was founded in 1989 by Chris Camarda in Washington State, pioneering the state's reputation for Bordeaux-variety blends and single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate's close relationship with the Champoux Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills — one of Washington's most celebrated old-vine sites, planted in 1972 — produced some of the state's most sought-after bottles over three decades. The Sorella, a Champoux-based Bordeaux blend, became the estate's flagship and commands the highest auction interest in the 320-lot record. At $71 average per bottle, Andrew Will occupies the accessible end of Washington's premium segment, offering genuine quality from top vineyard contracts at prices well below comparable California Cabernet estates. Chris Camarda retired from winemaking in 2020, passing the label to his son, and the transition has sustained interest in the final Camarda-era vintages as collectors seek to close their libraries. The Ciel du Cheval Vineyard bottling from Red Mountain, the Two Blondes from Yakima Valley, and the Champoux Merlot round out the portfolio of the 320-lot record. Washington Cabernet from Champoux's old vines has no California equivalent in terms of the combination of site pedigree, price accessibility, and critical consistency.

Andrew Will's relationship with Champoux Vineyard — one of Washington's oldest and most distinguished sites, planted in 1972 in the Horse Heaven Hills — produced the estate's most auction-valuable wines over three decades.
The Sorella, a Champoux-based Bordeaux blend, is the estate's flagship and highest-priced auction wine, averaging above the $71 estate mean with top vintages from the early-to-mid 2000s most in demand.
Founder Chris Camarda retired in 2020; the final Camarda-era vintages now attract premiums as collectors close their Andrew Will libraries before the winemaking transition.
The Ciel du Cheval Vineyard bottling from Red Mountain, one of Washington's defining warm-climate sites, consistently shows the most tannic structure and longevity in the Andrew Will range.

In the Glass

Andrew Will Cabernets and blends from Washington's Columbia Valley show dark plum and blackberry fruit, ripe but not overblown, with mint and cedar from Cabernet Sauvignon and a firm tannic backbone that softens over 8–12 years. Horse Heaven Hills sites add a savoury, almost dusty mineral note; Red Mountain fruit (Ciel du Cheval) brings more iron and grip. The Champoux Merlot is plush and full-bodied by Washington standards.
