Artadi

Artadi is one of Spain's most respected Tempranillo producers, based in the Rioja Alavesa subzone where cooler temperatures and limestone-clay soils produce wines of unusual elegance and precision for the region. Founded in 1985 as a cooperative wine project, the estate separated from the Cosecheros Alaveses collective in 1992 and set a new standard for Rioja with single-vineyard, terroir-focused winemaking. Artadi has notably not submitted its wines for Denominación de Origen classification since 2015, preferring to label under Vino de Mesa or Vino de España to avoid regulatory constraints. The flagship Viña El Pisón—from a single 4-hectare old-vine Tempranillo parcel planted in 1945—is the auction's most-traded wine at 76 lots and the top-priced at $200 average, with the 2004 vintage most frequently appearing and reaching a maximum of $400. Pagos Viejos averages $99 across 35 lots (2004 peak), while Viñas de Gain—the estate's entry point—averages $28 across 23 lots. Grandes Añadas, a luxury cuvée from exceptional years, averages $107 across 14 lots with the 1998 vintage most traded.
