Allegrini is one of Valpolicella's most important and reliable estates, a family business whose modern reputation was built by Franco Allegrini and continued by his children Marilisa, Carlotta, and Giovanni. The estate is based in Fumane in the Valpolicella Classico zone and produces both traditional Valpolicella and Amarone alongside the internationally famous La Poja — a single-vineyard Corvina Veronese that was pioneering at its 1983 creation in demonstrating that Valpolicella varieties could produce world-class wine outside the Amarone format. La Grola is another important single-vineyard wine. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is consistently one of the appellation's finest, showing the rich, ripe character of Fumane fruit with complexity and balance. The estate has been at the forefront of quality-driven Valpolicella for decades.
