Colle Bereto is a Chianti Classico estate in the Radda in Chianti subzone, owned by the Pinzauti family and producing wines from roughly 20 hectares of hillside vineyard at 450–500 meters elevation. The estate has been producing Chianti Classico for decades, with its Riserva — based on Sangiovese with possible Merlot and Colorino support — representing the premium tier at an auction average of $218, while the Chianti Classico and the Toscana Il Tocco IGT trade around $60–$72. The 2004 Riserva is the top vintage in the auction record, and the estate's older lots from the early 2000s fetch the highest prices. Colle Bereto's position within Radda in Chianti, one of the highest and most temperature-moderated subzones of the DOCG, lends a distinctive aromatic freshness and fine-tannin structure to its Sangiovese. The Il Tocco, a Sangiovese-dominant Toscana IGT, averages $60 and serves as an alternative to the more rigid Chianti Classico framework, allowing non-DOCG varieties to contribute. At 108 total auction lots with an average of $80, the estate trades as a reliable mid-tier Chianti Classico producer — well-made and terroir-appropriate but without the cult status or production limitations that would push prices significantly above retail for the standard cuvées.
