Domaine Duroche is one of Gevrey-Chambertin's most compelling small producers, a family estate run by Pierre Duroche — the fifth generation — who assumed full control in 2006 and rapidly elevated the domaine into the upper tier of Gevrey specialists. The estate holds parcels in Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Latricières-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, and four premier crus including Cazetiers, Lavaut Saint-Jacques, Estournelles Saint-Jacques, and Aux Gémeaux. The Clos de Bèze averages $886 per bottle across 30 lots, with 2018 the most-traded; Latricières averages $633 across 26 lots; and Charmes averages $421 across 25. Even the village Gevrey-Chambertin 'Champ' at $77 average demonstrates the estate's value across tiers. Duroche Gevrey wines are defined by aromatic purity and silky-yet-structured Pinot Noir: red and dark cherry, dried rose, iron mineral, and whole-cluster spice on the nose with tannins that are firm but never aggressive. The Clos de Bèze is the most profound and powerful; Latricières is more austere and mineral; Charmes is the most immediately fragrant and plush. Village wines resolve within 3–5 years; the grand crus need 8–15.
