Foley farms hillside vineyards on Spring Mountain and Howell Mountain, focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon and the rare Charbono grape — one of California's only commercial bottlings of that Italian-origin variety. The Claret, a Cabernet-dominated blend, is the accessible entry point, while the reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain sites exhibits mineral, structured character typical of mountain Napa. Foley's Charbono — grown from old vines and producing fewer than 300 cases — is a cult item among collectors seeking unusual varieties: ink-dark, tannic, with a structure reminiscent of Barolo. Kelly's Cuvée and Petite Syrah round out a portfolio built for texture and aging potential. With 715 lots averaging $97 per bottle, Foley occupies a mid-tier position in the Napa market with consistent 91–95-point reception from Parker and Spectator through the 2000s and 2010s. The wine receives less media attention than comparably scored estates, arguably creating a value gap for informed buyers. Older lots of reserve Cabernet from the early 2000s — particularly 2001 and 2002 — have attracted the strongest auction interest, as the wines approach their optimal drinking windows after more than two decades of cellaring on Spring Mountain fruit.
