Terrabianca
Terrabianca is a Radda in Chianti estate established in 1988 by Swiss entrepreneur Roberto Bianchi on one of Chianti Classico's most rugged and elevated parcels. The estate farms around 80 hectares at 400-500 meters elevation, where cool temperatures and rocky galestro soils produce Sangiovese of naturally high acidity and firm tannic structure. Terrabianca became known in the 1990s for its Campaccio — a Sangiovese-Cabernet Sauvignon blend. At auction, 138 lots have traded at an average of $63, ranging from $6 to $738. Campaccio leads at 78 lots averaging $66; Campaccio Riserva averages $49 across 19 lots; Ceppate, the estate's Cabernet Franc-dominant IGT, averages $135 across 6 lots — a rarity premium. The $738 ceiling likely reflects a large-format Campaccio Riserva or Ceppate from a landmark Tuscan vintage. Bianchi sold Terrabianca in 2007. Wine Advocate scored Campaccio in the 89-93 range through the 1990s and 2000s.

In the Glass
Radda in Chianti Sangiovese and Super Tuscan blends: Campaccio shows dried cherry, leather, tobacco, bitter chocolate, and the firm, high-acid spine characteristic of cool, rocky Chianti Classico. Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc add dark fruit density and structural grip. Ceppate (Cabernet Franc-dominant) offers herbal, tobacco, and red fruit complexity. The elevated site ensures freshness and longevity across the portfolio, with wines aging well for 10-20 years.
