About Rhys

Rhys Vineyards grew out of Kevin Harvey's long study of wine, viticulture and geology. In 1995 he planted thirty Pinot Noir vines in his backyard in Woodside, California, then added more when the crop proved too small for a barrel. He filled his first full barrel in a garage winery in 2000. Between 2001 and 2016 the team planted seven estate vineyards from scratch: Alpine, Family Farm, Horseshoe, Skyline and Mt. Pajaro in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and Bearwallow and Clarke in Mendocino County. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the core, made in a cave winery at Skyline and a Ukiah facility.
