Antinori's Guado al Tasso estate in the Bolgheri DOC represents the Antinori family's most significant investment in Tuscany's coastal zone. The flagship wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated blend with Merlot and Syrah produced since 1990 from the estate's 300-hectare property near Castagneto Carducci, has established itself alongside Sassicaia and Ornellaia as a benchmark Bolgheri red. The estate sits on the coastal plain, benefiting from moderating maritime influence and well-drained alluvial soils. With 1,038 lots averaging $138 per bottle and a ceiling of $1,554, the estate occupies a mid-premium tier in the collector market. Il Bruciato, the second wine, provides accessible Bolgheri red at lower price points. Top auction vintages include 2016, 2012, and 2010. The estate also produces a Vermentino white under the Guado al Tasso name. Critical scores for the grand vin typically range 91–97 points, sufficient to sustain collector demand without reaching the extreme premiums of Masseto or Sassicaia.
