The estate farms approximately 100 acres on Stags Leap's characteristic iron-rich red volcanic loam soils, which deliver wines with distinctive bright acidity and refined tannin structure relative to other Napa sub-regions. The flagship Cabernet Sauvignon averages $72 across 70 lots with the 1999 vintage the most frequently traded—a year widely regarded as excellent for Stags Leap Cabernet. The Tomahawk Vineyard single-block bottling averages $82 across 33 lots; the 2009 vintage leads transactions. The Elevage Red, a Bordeaux-style blend averaging $74 across 20 lots, peaks with the 1995 vintage, documenting the wine's decade-plus track record. Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon at $92 average is the most focused single-vine-selection expression in the range. At a portfolio average of $75 across 196 lots, Chimney Rock occupies a consistent but unspectacular position in Napa's secondary market: genuine Stags Leap District character at prices that reflect reliable quality without cult-producer premiums or the extreme vintage variation that characterises smaller, less consistent estates.
