Domaine Drouhin Oregon
Domaine Drouhin Oregon is the Pacific Northwest's most prestigious Burgundian estate, established in 1987 when Robert Drouhin of Maison Joseph Drouhin purchased 90 acres in the Dundee Hills — then a nascent wine region — and his daughter Véronique became the winemaker. The decision transformed how the world viewed Oregon Pinot Noir: if a great Burgundy house considered Oregon worth investing in, it validated the region's potential. Véronique Drouhin-Boss remains the winemaker, and her Burgundian-trained palate produces a style notable for finesse, elegance, and restraint unusual among American Pinot Noirs. The flagship Cuvée Laurène (named for Véronique's daughter) is made only in exceptional years from the finest barrels and is considered one of Oregon's most collectible wines. The Arthur Chardonnay is similarly elegant. The estate farms 225 acres in the Dundee Hills Willamette Valley AVA. At auction, DDO is the most actively traded Oregon producer, prized by Burgundy lovers for the European elegance of its wines, which respond well to 10–15 years of cellaring.

In the Glass
DDO Pinot Noir is distinctly Burgundian in inspiration: red cherry, raspberry, dried herbs, and earthy mushroom notes with fine, silky tannins and restrained oak. The Cuvée Laurène adds density and complexity. All wines show the elegance and balance of European training applied to Oregon's exceptional terroir.
