Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret is a large and historically significant Vosne-Romanée estate covering approximately 28 hectares across multiple Grand Cru and Premier Cru appellations in the Côte de Nuits. The domaine's holdings include Grand Cru Richebourg, Grands-Échézeaux, Échézeaux, and Clos de Vougeot, as well as notable Premier Cru parcels in Vosne-Romanée Les Petits Monts, Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Boudots, and Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Narbantons. Vieilles Vignes bottlings — drawn from the estate's oldest parcels — are produced alongside the appellation-specific Grand Cru releases. The domaine is now run by the fourth generation of the Mongeard family, and winemaking has evolved toward greater precision and fruit purity while maintaining the full-bodied traditional style associated with the estate. The Grande Complication is a special cuvée produced in exceptional years. At auction, the estate averages $289 per bottle across 233 lots — a strong average reflecting Grand Cru domination of the auction pool — with peaks reaching $3,346 for Richebourg and Grands-Échézeaux. These peak prices represent the estate's blue-chip Grand Cru expression from landmark vintages such as 2010, 2015, and 2019. The domaine's Grand Cru production — concentrated in Richebourg, Grands-Échézeaux, and Échézeaux — positions it among the Côte de Nuits' most significant family estates by Grand Cru holding size.
