About Echezeaux
Échezeaux is a red grand cru in the commune of Flagey-Echézeaux, on a band of land lying between Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot and Chambolle-Musigny. It borders the wall of Clos de Vougeot and Grands Échezeaux. It was created in 1937 and had about 35 hectares in production in 2008. Like Clos de Vougeot, it is split among many growers, around 80 in the early 2000s, so its reputation for quality is uneven and depends heavily on the producer. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is its best-known owner.
