Vosne-Romanée is Burgundy's most prestigious village and the home of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, whose monopole vineyards — Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg — represent the pinnacle of Pinot Noir at auction worldwide. The village's 10,400+ lots in the auction database average $1,033 per bottle, with DRC bottles routinely surpassing $10,000. Geologically, Vosne sits at the foot of the Côte de Nuits where Bathonian and Bajocian limestone meets active clay soils of varying depth; the grands crus occupy a narrow band of well-drained, mid-slope terrain at 250–300m elevation. Beyond DRC, the village produces elite Pinot Noir from Leroy (Aux Brûlées, Les Beaux Monts), Méo-Camuzet (Aux Brûlées, Cros Parantoux), and Emmanuel Rouget (Cros Parantoux, which Henri Jayer made famous). The premier crus Aux Malconsorts and Les Suchots regularly trade above $500 per bottle from top producers.
