About Vosne-Romanee
Vosne-Romanée is a red-only village appellation for Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée and neighbouring Flagey-Échezeaux, which has no appellation of its own. It has 15 premier cru vineyards and eight grands crus, six in Vosne and two, Échezeaux and Grands Échezeaux, in Flagey. They include Burgundy's most sought-after reds, with Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's Romanée-Conti at the top, alongside La Tâche, Richebourg and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. About 154 hectares were in production at village and premier cru level in 2008. Flat land east of the N74 qualifies only as Bourgogne.
