About Clos de la Roche
Clos de la Roche is a red grand cru in the northern part of Morey-Saint-Denis on the Côte de Nuits, reaching the border with Gevrey-Chambertin. It was created in 1936, and 'clos' refers to a walled vineyard. It borders Clos Saint-Denis to the south and the Route des Grands Crus to the east. The vineyard has grown from about four hectares to roughly 13.4. Domaine Ponsot is its largest owner, holding three of the four original hectares. The wine is Pinot Noir.
