About Cayuse
Cayuse is the Walla Walla Valley estate of French vigneron Christophe Baron. Drawn in 1996 by a field of cobblestones in Milton-Freewater, he planted his first vineyard, Cailloux, the following year. Coccinelle and En Cerise, a former cherry orchard, followed in 1998, En Chamberlin in 2000 and the densely planted Armada in 2001, giving five vineyards and 47 acres, all farmed biodynamically. Syrah dominates, from the flagship Cailloux bottling to Bionic Frog, alongside Grenache such as God Only Knows, Tempranillo and Bordeaux-variety blends. All wines come from estate fruit. Baron also runs Horsepower, Hors Catégorie, No Girls and a Champagne under his own name.
