About Chateau Figeac

Château-Figeac is one of Saint-Émilion's largest estates: 54 hectares in a single block, 41 of them vineyard. The property was much larger in the 18th century before being broken up, and Henri de Chevremont bought what remained in 1892. It passed to his descendants, and in 1947 the agronomist Thierry Manoncourt took over, bringing Figeac into Saint-Émilion's top rank before his death in 2010. Figeac's gravel soils carry an unusual mix of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc with a minority of Merlot, giving a Médoc-like style. The estate was ranked Premier Grand Cru Classé A in 2022. The second wine is Petit-Figeac.
