About Chateau Malescot St. Exupery

Malescot St. Exupéry is a Margaux estate ranked a Third Growth in 1855. In 1697 it was bought by Simon Malescot, a royal councillor at the Bordeaux parlement, who gave it his name. Count Jean-Baptiste de Saint-Exupéry, great-grandfather of the writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, bought it in 1827 and added his own name. Owners Fourcade and Boissac built the château and cellars in the 1870s. Paul and Roger Zuger bought the run-down estate in 1955, when only 7 hectares were under vine. Jean-Luc Zuger has run it since 1994, and it now covers 28 hectares. The vines are half Cabernet Sauvignon, and the second wine is La Dame de Malescot.
