About Chateau Rauzan-Segla

Rauzan-Ségla, long also spelled Rausan-Ségla, is a Margaux estate ranked a Second Growth in 1855. It was part of the large 17th-century Rauzan holding of Pierre de Mesures de Rauzan, which was later split into Rauzan-Gassies, Rauzan-Ségla, Desmirail and Marquis de Terme. The Durand-Dasier family owned it before the Cruse family bought it in 1903. It later belonged to shipping magnate John Holt and then Brent Walker. In 1994 the Wertheimer family of Chanel bought it and brought in a team from Château Latour. Its 51 hectares are mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, and the second wine is Ségla.
