About Vieux Telegraphe

Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe is one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's leading estates. Hippolyte Brunier first planted vines on the Plateau de la Crau in 1898, between Bédarrides, Châteauneuf and Courthézon. His son Jules enlarged it to nearly 17 hectares and named it after a semaphore tower that once stood among the vines. Henri Brunier rebuilt it after phylloxera and passed it to his sons Daniel and Frédéric in 1986. Today it covers 70 hectares, about 65% Grenache with Syrah, Mourvèdre and some Cinsaut and white grapes. Its second wines are Vieux Mas des Papes and Télégramme. The Bruniers also run La Roquette and Les Pallières in Gigondas.
