About Domaine Meo Camuzet
The modern Méo-Camuzet estate grew from the holdings of Étienne Camuzet, Côte-d'Or deputy and mayor of Vosne-Romanée, who bought the Château du Clos de Vougeot and its upper twenty hectares in 1920, kept three, and later sold the château to the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin in 1944. His daughter's vines passed in 1959 to her nephew Jean Méo, and for decades tenant farmers including Henri Jayer worked them. Renamed Méo-Camuzet in 1981, the domaine bottled its first vintage under that name in 1983. Jean-Nicolas Méo took charge from 1989, launched a négoce in the early 2000s and has farmed every parcel himself since 2008.
