About Fontodi

Fontodi lies in the Conca d'Oro, the amphitheatre-shaped valley south of Panzano in the heart of Chianti Classico, an area long known for fine wine. The Manetti family, whose name has been tied for centuries to the Chianti tradition of terracotta tile making, has owned the estate since 1968. Of its roughly 130 hectares, about 70 are vineyards, certified organic, on high, calcareous clay-schist slopes with warm days and cool nights. Every wine comes from estate grapes, centred on Sangiovese, in wines such as Flaccianello della Pieve and Vigna del Sorbo, alongside Case Via Pinot Noir and Syrah, Filetta di Lamole and Vin Santo.
