About Hall
HALL Wines belongs to Craig Hall, a Dallas real-estate entrepreneur who founded the HALL Group in 1968, and Kathryn Hall, U.S. Ambassador to Austria from 1997 to 2001, whose family has grown grapes in Mendocino County since 1972. Their first Napa purchase was the 40-acre Sacrashe vineyard in Rutherford in 1995, and their first wine was a 1996 Sacrashe Cabernet, though a 2000 fire destroyed the 1996 and 1997 vintages in storage. The HALL Rutherford winery on a hillside estate opened in 2005. The family now owns more than 500 acres of vines, makes mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, and also runs the WALT and BACA labels.
