About Jean-Claude Ramonet
Domaine Ramonet traces back to Pierre Ramonet, born in 1906 into a family of Bresse origin, who started out in Chassagne-Montrachet in the late 1920s with very little. He began by buying grapes, then acquired vineyards in the village one by one, and in 1978 paid cash for a plot of Le Montrachet. Pierre married Lucie Prudhon, and their son André was the father of Noël and Jean-Claude, who have run the estate since 1984. Pierre died in 1994. The domaine now covers about 17 hectares, centred on Chassagne premiers crus such as Ruchottes, Morgeot and Caillerets, with Bâtard- and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet and newer Saint-Aubin and Puligny parcels.
