About Joseph Drouhin
Maison Joseph Drouhin, the Beaune house founded in 1880, works both as négociant and as owner of a 100 ha estate across Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Côte Chalonnaise and Mâconnais, farmed biodynamically since the 1990s. Some 40 ha in Chablis include grands crus Les Clos, Preuses, Vaudésir and Bougros. Its signature is Beaune Clos des Mouches, where Drouhin holds the largest parcel, half Chardonnay, half Pinot Noir. The red uses 20–50% whole clusters, native yeasts and 14–18 months in oak (25% new), moving from griotte and raspberry to tobacco and undergrowth as it matures. Grands crus run from Musigny and Griotte-Chambertin to Bâtard-Montrachet.
