About Williams Selyem
Friends Burt Williams and Ed Selyem began making wine in 1978 under the name Hacienda Del Rio, working from a leased garage in Fulton with Pinot Noir bought from Joe Rochioli. After renaming and bonding the winery they moved to Howard Allen's Allen Ranch on Westside Road in 1988, and single-vineyard Pinots from sites like Rochioli, Summa, Ferrington, Hirsch and Coastlands built their following. In 1998 they sold to John and Kathe Dyson, who bought the Litton vineyard in 2001 as the Williams Selyem Estate and added further estate sites. Jeff Mangahas has directed winemaking since 2011, and the Burgundian Faiveley family took majority control in 2024.
