Graham's

W & J Graham's is one of Port's most historic and respected houses, founded in 1820 by two Scottish brothers and today part of the Symington Family portfolio. Graham's is celebrated particularly for the power and longevity of its Vintage Ports, which are consistently ranked among the finest declarations from any house. The Symington family has owned Graham's since 1970 and has continued to invest heavily in both viticulture and winemaking, most notably through the development of Quinta dos Malvedos — a spectacular single estate in the Douro Superior — which forms the backbone of the vintage blend and is also bottled as a single-quinta wine in non-declaration years. Graham's is also renowned for its aged Tawnies, particularly the 10, 20, and 30-Year-Old expressions, which are considered reference points for the category. The Vintage Port style is classic and structured: dark fruit, mineral earthiness, chocolate, and tobacco, with the backbone to evolve for 50 years or more. Celebrated declared vintages include 1948, 1955, 1963, 1970, 1977, 1980, 1983, 1985, 1991, 1994, 2000, 2003, 2011, and 2016. At auction, Graham's commands prices among the highest of any Port house, with the 1963 particularly revered.
