Morlet Family Vineyards is the Sonoma County project of Luc Morlet, former head winemaker at Peter Michael Winery, who launched his own label in 2006. The estate focuses on single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Sonoma Coast and Sta. Rita Hills sources, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley and Knights Valley. The 314-lot auction record spans eight distinct wines averaging $134 per bottle — a premium position that reflects Luc Morlet's technical training (he studied in Burgundy and at Peter Michael) and the scarcity of each cuvée. The Chardonnay Ma Douce leads the portfolio with the most lots, while the Pinot Noir Joli Coeur and Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Chevalier provide the prestige tiers. The Passionnément and Coeur de Vallée Cabernets, sourced from Knights Valley and Napa, offer different expressions of the variety. Morlet farms biodynamically and keeps all bottlings under 200–300 cases, creating persistent secondary-market scarcity.
