About Domaine Fourrier

Domaine Fourrier's story begins in the 1930s, when Fernand Pernot started buying vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin. His nephew Jean-Claude Fourrier took over in the late 1960s, when the estate was known as Pernot-Fourrier. Jean-Claude's son Jean-Marie took charge in 1994 at the age of 23, gave up herbicides in the mid-1990s and has kept the many old vines, some planted between the wars, alive through massal selection. The domaine farms ten hectares in some seventy parcels across Gevrey, Chambolle, Morey and Vougeot. Leading wines include Griotte-Chambertin and the Clos Saint-Jacques and Combe aux Moines premiers crus. Jean-Marie's son Louis represents the fifth generation.
