About Domaine Michel Lafarge

Domaine Michel Lafarge in Volnay traces its roots to the early nineteenth century. Michel's father bought the Clos du Château des Ducs in 1900, and the family first bottled wine at the domaine in 1934, including Clos des Chênes, still its largest premier cru holding. Michel ran the estate for about sixty years. His son Frédéric took over in 1978, and together they converted the vineyards to biodynamic farming in 1996. Frédéric's daughter Clothilde joined in 2018. The domaine farms about 11.7 hectares, mostly in Volnay and Beaune.
