About Dunn

Dunn Vineyards, the Dunn family's winery on Howell Mountain, makes 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in two main bottlings, made identically, aged 32 months in new French oak. Howell Mountain comes only from the family's 42 acres at roughly 1,850–2,100 feet, where shallow, poor soils and extra sun give thick-skinned berries and yields about half the valley floor's: powerful, savoury and mineral, with a signature cumin-and-coriander spice and tannins built for long ageing. The Napa Valley bottling blends younger Howell Mountain blocks with bought valley-floor fruit for a plusher, juicier style. In top years a tiny old-vine reserve, El Camino, appears. Each lot is fermented separately and blended blind; farming is organic.
