About Sloan

Seattle investor Stuart Sloan, founder of Sloan Capital Companies, bought a 40-acre hillside property on the eastern slopes of the Mayacamas above Rutherford in 1998; about 13 acres are planted, mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Mark Aubert made the first Sloan vintage in 2000 before leaving after one harvest, and Martha McClellan has been winemaker since June 2001. The estate makes a Sloan Proprietary Red and a Cabernet-Merlot blend called Asterisk. In 2011 Hong Kong businessman Pan Sutong bought the estate from Sloan.
