About Turley
Turley Wine Cellars is a California producer specialising in old-vine red Zinfandel, with wineries in St. Helena in Napa and Templeton in Paso Robles. Larry Turley, brother of the consultant winemaker Helen Turley, founded it in 1993. He had entered the wine trade in 1981 as a co-founder of Frog's Leap but turned to Zinfandel. After starting in St. Helena, the winery expanded to Templeton with the purchase of the old Pesenti winery, whose Zinfandel vines date from 1923. It sources from old vineyards, some planted in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and also makes Petite Sirah.
