About Vietti
Carlo Vietti founded this winery in the late nineteenth century at the highest point of the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto, where it still stands. His son Mario, back from years in the United States, took over in 1917 and built it into a quality producer. From the late 1950s Mario's daughter Luciana and her husband, the oenologist Alfredo Currado, brought new ideas: in 1961 they made Rocche di Castiglione, one of the first single-cru Barolos, and in 1967 the first single-varietal Roero Arneis, followed by artist-designed labels from 1974. Their son Luca Currado Vietti later ran the estate, and in 2016 the Krause family bought it.
