Produttori del Barbaresco is one of Italy's most important and democratically operated wine cooperatives, producing Barbaresco from 54 grower-members who collectively own some of the appellation's finest vineyards. Founded in 1958 under the guidance of the parish priest Don Fiorino Zanatta, the cooperative rescued the Barbaresco denomination from near-extinction. The guiding winemaker Aldo Vacca has led the estate to international recognition, producing wines of extraordinary purity and site expression from a range of single-vineyard Riservas: Asili, Montestefano, Montefico, Ovello, Pora, Rabajà, Pajé, and Muncagota. The wines are made in a traditional style: long macerations, no new oak, large Slavonian casks only. At auction, the individual vineyard Riservas — particularly Asili and Rabajà — command significant premiums, while even the standard Barbaresco represents exceptional value. A benchmark for natural, terroir-driven winemaking throughout Italy.
