About Casanova di Neri

Giovanni Neri founded Casanova di Neri in 1971 in the Canalicchio area north-east of Montalcino. His son Giacomo represents the second generation. Today the property covers 500 hectares, with 63 hectares of Sangiovese spread over seven vineyards between about 300 and 450 metres, the rest given over to woods, olives and farmland. Giacomo's sons Giovanni and Gianlorenzo now share in running the estate. Alongside its Brunello di Montalcino, it makes two single-vineyard Brunellos: Tenuta Nuova, from a stony south-facing site, and Cerretalto, from a very steep slope.
