About Eisele Vineyard
The Eisele Vineyard near Calistoga was planted in the 1880s to Zinfandel and Riesling and first planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1964. Under owners Milt and Barbara Eisele its fruit went into a 1971 Ridge bottling and, from 1975, a Joseph Phelps vineyard-designate. Bart and Daphne Araujo purchased the 162-acre property in 1990, built a redwood winery and caves, and released their first Eisele Vineyard Cabernet in 1991 under the Araujo Estate name. They farmed organically from 1998 and gained Demeter biodynamic certification in 2002. François Pinault's Artémis group bought it in 2013 and renamed it Eisele Vineyard Estate; Altagracia is the second wine.
