About Poderi Aldo Conterno

Poderi Aldo Conterno is in Bussia, Monforte d'Alba, in the heart of Barolo. Aldo Conterno, a son of Giacomo Conterno, spent several years in the United States in the 1950s. He then ran the family firm with his brother Giovanni from 1961, but the two disagreed over how Barolo should be made. In 1969 Aldo bought the Favot estate and set up on his own. His style mixed tradition with some modern ideas, including long ageing in large Slavonian casks for the Granbussia riserva. He died in 2012, and his sons Franco, Stefano and Giacomo continue the work. The estate's 25 hectares supply the Romirasco, Cicala and Colonnello crus.
