Arnaud Ente in Meursault is among Burgundy's most elusive and celebrated domaine producers, farming approximately 4 hectares of Meursault premier cru and village vineyards plus a small Puligny-Montrachet premier cru parcel. Ente's wines—produced in tiny quantities and distributed through a small group of favored importers—have achieved legendary status among Burgundy collectors for their combination of richness, mineral precision, and extraordinary longevity. The Clos des Ambres, a monopole within Meursault village, is among the estate's most distinctive bottlings. Les Gouttes d'Or premier cru—the only Meursault premier cru with a south-facing aspect—is the most opulent and age-worthy. Seve Clos and the Puligny Les Referts round out the small portfolio. At auction, 779 lots average $657 per bottle reaching $2,151. The 2007 vintage is the top auction year. Ente's winemaking emphasizes extremely low yields (often below 25 hl/ha), native yeasts, extended barrel aging, and minimal sulfur—producing wines requiring 10–15 years of cellaring. His Bourgogne Aligote has also achieved cult status, trading above $100 per bottle at auction.
