Pierre Morey

Pierre Morey is a Meursault-based vigneron and former winemaker at Domaine Leflaive (1988–2008), whose own domaine produces some of the finest white Burgundies outside the most famous estates. Morey's holdings center on Meursault, where Les Terres Blanches and Le Tesson represent village-level benchmark wines, alongside Premier Cru Charmes and Perrières. The crown jewel is a small parcel of Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, which appears in the portfolio and commands the highest prices. At auction, the Bâtard-Montrachet averages $2,125 at the top end of the range, while Meursault Les Terres Blanches averages $293 per bottle. Morey converted to biodynamic viticulture in 1997 and also operates a small négociant business (Morey-Blanc). His Volnay Santenots adds a red dimension, averaging mid-$200s at auction. The combination of a prestigious winemaking track record, biodynamic farming, and small production drives above-average demand for these wines. The portfolio spans $40–$2,125 across 130 auction lots, with Meursault village wines offering accessible entry points to the Morey style.
